Air Force JROTC has arrived at Royal HS!

We are excited to announce that Royal High School will be offering the Air Force JROTC program for the 2014-2015 school year.
The objectives of JROTC are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.
The AFJROTC program is grounded in the Air Force core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. The curriculum emphasizes the Air Force heritage and traditions, the development of flight, applied flight sciences, military aerospace policies, and space exploration.
Retired Col. Mark Hustedt will be the instructor of Royal High School's program which will include an Aerospace Science/Leadership Education course of study.
For more information about entering the program, please email Col. Mark Hustedt at or contact your student's counselor.

Royal High School and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library have developed a partnership in education.  This unique and one-of-a-kind partnership has resulted in the Ronald Reagan Citizen Scholar Institute (RR CSI) at Royal High School.  Within the RR CSI there are four areas of educational focus: Individual Liberty, Global Economy, National Pride and Economic Opportunity.  Under the RR CSI, there are also two additional programs in the works: the International Baccalaureate program and the Air Force Junior ROTC program.  It is the expectation that as students progress through their education at Royal they will select an area of focus and pursue a Ronald Reagan Citizen Scholar Diploma Seal.  Royal High School is leading the way for civics education for high schools across the country.

Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Summer Program

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation has developed a new summer program aimed at increasing the civic engagement of student leaders—the Ronald Reagan Student Leadership Program. This three day program will develop leadership skills with a goal of accomplishing the following task:

  • Identify a problem in the community and create an extensive Leadership Action Plan which details a pathway for addressing that problem. To help them create their Leadership Action Plan, students will explore concepts of:

  1. Effective Communication (The Great Communicator)
  2. Optimism (It CAN Be Done)
  3. Informed Decision Making (Governor and President)

Royal students who participate in this three-day program at the Reagan Library this summer will be well on their way to earning the Presidential Diploma Seal upon graduation. There is no cost to students for this program, but there is an application process.  I hope that many of our Royal High students will apply and attend this wonderful program.  Please visit the site below to get more information and then, apply!
