mission statement

The Royal High School boys soccer program enjoys a rich tradition of success. Since the program's inception in 1974, Royal has 16 Marmonte League championships, 3 CIF titles, 1 SoCal Regional Final appearance, and numerous tournament championships throughout southern California. Many of our student-athlete alumni have gone on to play in prestigious college and university programs throughout continental U.S. and overseas while others went on to become successful soccer coaches at the club/academy, high school, and college levels.

We firmly believe that success cannot be achieved without discipline and sacrifice and our coaching philosophy reflects that sentiment. At Royal High we treat soccer as an extension of the classroom and use our craft as docents to cultivate moral character as well as athletic competitiveness.

Both the coaching staff and players at Royal High School devote a considerable amount of time into soccer in an attempt to maintain this program's legacy of high expectations. We require that our athletes be good students and demand that they display good citizenship both on and off the field. It is the philosophy of our entire coaching staff to promote sportsmanship in a respectful, safe environment.

General information

Hello and welcome to the 2013-14 soccer season!

We are very pleased to announce that there have been numerous changes in our program, starting with booster club officers: Loraine Austin and Jill Robles are the Co-Presidents. Our treasurer is Trish Goenner. We have the support of excellent "team-mom" secretaries (Lynn Johnson, Tamara Lott, Mireya Mendez, Maria Lapinid, Anitta Strassner, Linda Bodnar, Gina Myers and Heidi Stokka among others) who are very dedicated to the program and want to see Royal High School boys soccer continue its legacy of being one of southern California's top high school soccer programs.

Please check this website regularly for continued updates!

Thank you and GO ROYAL!
