RONALD REAGAN PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This prestigious scholarship for Ventura County students will be available on January 2, 2017.  Requirements are as follows:

  • Demonstrate outstanding leadership, character, communication skills, academic achievement, and commitment to Ventura County.
  • Be high school seniors who will graduate from a high school in Ventura County, California, in winter 2015 or spring 2016. Homeschooled high school seniors in Ventura County, California, are eligible to apply.
  • Secure two recommendations by authority figures who have observed them in a leadership role, including a teacher.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Be citizens of the United States of America.
  • Awards will generally range from $1,000-$8,000 and will be determined by the Foundation.
  • Awards are not renewable and are for one time only.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only and may be used for education related expenses: tuition, fees, books, supplies room and board.
  • Top award recipients also may choose a teacher who will receive a grant of $500.

About Raise.me: Raise.me is a social enterprise working in partnership with the White House and over 180 colleges to expand access to higher education by improving the way students prepare for college—both financially and academically. Rather than waiting until the end of high school to award aid, which is often too late to impact a student’s college ambitions or choices,Raise.me enables students to earn grant aid throughout high school, starting as early as 9th grade, for doing all the things that best prepare them to succeed, whether that’s getting good grades, volunteering in the community or joining an extracurricular. The amount that students earn from a college on Raise.me represents a guaranteed minimum amount of aid they’ll receive if they apply and are admitted to that college.

NORTHROP GRUMANN ENGINEERING SCHOLARS PROGRAM –  Graduating senior, U.S. Citizen, Plan to attend an accredited college full time in an approved engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics program; Minimum SAT score of 1150/ ACT 27; Minimum GPA 3.5 (unweighted)
