Counseling office hours: 7:30 - 4:00

Royal High School counselors assist students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development. This includes working with students to develop four year plans to meet graduation requirements and to explore and prepare for the wide range of post-high school options.

The Counseling Office is open from 4:00 – 7:00 PM one Monday every month.   Two of the counselors are available to provide information and answer questions.  Check the calendar on the main page for specific dates. Students and parents are welcome to stop by – no appointment needed!

College Entrance Testing

College bound seniors should register to take the SAT or ACT in the fall.  College bound juniors should take the SAT or ACT in the spring of their junior year.  Information about test dates and registration is available on these websites:  SAT:    ACT:    Registering early means no late fees are required and increases the chances that students will be assigned to their preferred test site.  Royal High School offers the SAT in May.

Registration for


Counselors visited English classes March 10 - 17 to discuss registration for next year.  Those students who missed the presentation may view it here.   Students may input their course selections on Aeries (see the main page for instructions).  The course description book can provide information about specific courses.  Counselors will meet briefly with each student  

     April 1 - 10.

    College bound juniors are advised to take the SAT and/or the ACT in May or June.  The SAT will be given on the RHS campus on Saturday, May 3.  See the links below to sign up for either or both exams.
