This includes working with students to develop four year plans to meet graduation requirements and to explore and prepare for the wide range of post-high school options.

The Counseling Office is open from 4:00 – 7:00 PM one Monday every month.   Two of the counselors are available to provide information and answer questions.  Check the calendar on the main page for specific dates. Students and parents are welcome to stop by – no appointment needed!

College Entrance Testing

College Bound.jpg

College bound seniors should register to take the SAT or ACT in the fall.  College bound juniors should take the  or JUneSAT or ACT in the spring of their junior year.  Information about test dates and registration is available on these websites:  SAT:  http://www.collegeboard.org    ACT: http://www.act.org    Registering early means no late fees are required and increases the chances that students will be assigned to their preferred test site.  Royal High School offers the SAT in May or June.

UC Approved Online Course Providers

The following online programs have been approved for A-G entrance requirements for UC or CSU:

Approved Online A-G Course Providers

However, not all courses are approved for each vendor so it's important to check the specific course on the UC system's website.  That information can be found here: https://doorways.ucop.edu/list/app/home/ . Search for the online program, then check to see if the course is listed as approved.

Any courses taken online for which high school credit is desired must be approved by your counselor prior to enrolling in the course.
